The fifth episode starts with Tae Joon seeing the video that Jae Hee had sent to his coach. Her story is finally explained! I didn't actually get it until now. Anyways. Tae Joon learns that Jae Hee had been bullied but because of him, she decides to fight. She starts doing track and field. She is motivated by Tae Joon and now in return Tae Joon decides to be motivated by her.
Tae Joon attempts to get back into training for High Jump again but the P.E. coach decides not to. Instead of practicing, Tae Joon starts to clean up stuff in the gym instead hoping that the coach might see his sincerity. Tae Joon also tells his director that he wants to jump again. At first she is against it, saying that there were going to be higher expectations from him, but in the end agrees to support him.
Meanwhile both Jae Hee and Eun Kyul are avoiding phone calls. Jae Hee is ignoring her brother's phone calls because she knows that he wants her to leave with him to go back to the states. Eun Kyul is ignoring the phone calls of his elementary classmate with whom he has had some rough memories with.
Han Na continues with her stalker methods. She makes her way into Tae Joon's room using her gymnastic skills. While waiting for Tae Joon she puts a picture of herself on his table and then picks up the bracelet that Jae Hee had given to Tae Joon but she thinks nothing of it. Once again, it is Jae Hee who discovers Han Na in the room. Han Na mentions her stolen uniform and Jae Hee quickly hides the evidence. Han Na notices the motion and then screams when Jae Hee says that she was just getting rid of a cockroach.
Finally Eun Kyul decides to go meet Hong Da Hye. At first he sees this slightly overweight girl and he seems unhappy but the girl passes him. When he finally sees Da Hye, I think he's happy. She is very cute and talented. The two catch up and Da Hye even plays the violin for him.
Jae Hee notices that Han Na's car has broken down. Using that as a diversion, she returns the uniform. Then Daniel calls her. Jae Hee notices that caller ID and declines the call only to find Daniel standing in front of her. He tells her to take him to the main office. She refuses. He tries to find his own way there. He ends up meeting with Dr. Jang who only talks to him about drinking and cologne.
Jae Hee is happy and decides to surprise Tae Joon with a cake (the cake has a running shoe on it which I think is pretty cute). Tae Joon declines and Jae Hee tries to bring the cake to him but ends up tripping and falling with her face landing in the cake. Jae Hee sits up with cake on her face and Tae Joon takes some off her face and eats it, declaring it 'delicious.' ( I think I might have melted a little at this part) She thinks its ruined. Tae Joon seeing her like this says 'what else were you going to do with it?' Quickly the cake is set up again, with a candle, and Jae Hee puts some of the cake on Tae Joon even after he tells her not to do it. Jae Hee runs away as Tae Joon follows with the cake.
Meanwhile Dr. Jang and Daniel meet up to drink shots. Both of them have opposite views. Dr. Jang is stubborn about Jae Hee staying while Daniel is stubborn about Jae Hee leaving with him. Then Dr. Jang says that Daniel should at least believe in and trust Jae Hee because I mean, if he doesn't who will? Dr. Jang 1 Daniel 0.
The next day Tae Joon and Jae Hee are leaving together. Not wanting to be late Tae Joon starts to run away. When he looks back though he realizes that Jae Hee is talking with her brother. Daniel takes Jae Hee aside and tell her that she can stay. She is allowed to stay until Tae Joon's competition. After that she must return back to America with him. Jae Hee accepts his plan. When Jae Hee makes it back to her locker, she finds her P.E. clothes dripping with water. Tae Joon finds out about this later.
Jae Hee and Eun Kyul end up doing laundry together. Jae Hee asks him his opinion about dressing up as a girl and entering a girl's dormitory. Eun Kyul fantasizes about it a little but then thinks that it would be too hard to do and you would be found out too quickly.
Back in her room, Jae Hee asks where Tae Joon is going. She tries to get him to stay with her because she realizes that she has little time left with him. Tae Joon insists on going. It turns out that today is his mom's death anniversary. At his house, Tae Joon gets into another fight with his father, which Han Na notices right away when she comes in. It seems as though Tae Joon's father believes that Tae Joon blames him for his mother's death or could it be that he actually thinks that? I can't tell.
When Eun Kyul comes to borrow tooth paste from Jae Hee, she gets a message telling her to meet Tae Joon at the pool. She runs off to the pool only to be push into the pool from a great height. Tae Joon comes back to the dorm and Eun Kyul wonders why Jae Hee is not with him. Tae Joon remembers Jae Hee mentioning the wet uniform and runs for the pool. Eun Kyul quickly follows.
Then find Jae Hee in the pool and both jump in to save her. Eun Kyul is about to perform CPR on her but can't. Tae Joon tells him to move and does it himself. And might I say, he was kind of bad at acting the chest compression out but the mouth to mouth....
Later back in room 303, all three of them dry up. Both ask if Jae Hee saw who pushed her. Instead she replies with 'I must have accidentally slipped.' After Eun Kyul leaves, Jae Hee askes Tae Joon where his necklace is. He replies with 'don't worry. It must have fallen into the pool.' The next morning Tae Joon gets up hearing Jae Hee's alarm. He sees that Jae Hee isn't in the room and immediately goes to the pool and pulls her out. He tells her that it isn't something that she should worry herself over.
Tae Joon finally is allowed to participate in high jump events. The coach tells him that he is allowed to participate in the upcoming competition. If he does well, he will be allowed to be part of the team again. Jae Hee goes to see Tae Joon practicing and sees him frustrated as he knocks down the bar.
Jae Hee goes back to the room and packs her things to get ready to leave. Jae Hee later meets Eun Kyul. He tells her to cheer Tae Joon on because he won't be able to make the competition. Jae Hee then gives Eun Kyul a back hug and thanks him for helping her during her time there because otherwise, things would have been a lot more rough. The look on Eun Kyul's face is so cute and priceless. I love this kid.
The day of the competition arrives. Tae Joon takes his stuff and sits down. He opens his bag and finds an unexpected gift. He opens the note and finds a shoelace. The shoelace is from Jae Hee who says that she has to go back to America and won't be able to make it to his competition. She says that she gives him this shoelace because it was lucky for her.
In front of the dorms, Daniel comes in a car and picks up Jae Hee to take her home.
Random:
I forgot where this scene was but I thought it was pretty funny. Of course when Tae Joon realizes that he is sharing a room with a girl, he gets the lock to the bathroom fixed. The next time that Eun Kyul and Seung Ri try to enter the bathroom they can't get in.
